its not in South America… yeah, i thought so too..
i didnt know that theres such place in the Phils, i only learned this when were headed on this trip already =)
from our hotel in CDO we hailed a cab going to the bus terminal. but along the way, the cab driver offered to bring us all the way to El Salvador city. it was a bargain at 400 pesos( if im not mistaken… well im always wrong haha). so we dropped the bus-habal-habal option.
definitely it is the most convenient way( taxi) to reach the Divine Mercy Hills Shrine. and honestly, i think its somewhat cheaper too.
Divine Mercy Hills Shrine is situated in El Salvador city in Misamis Oriental. west of Cagayan de Oro in the northern part of Mindanao. the shrine is perched on a hill overlooking the Macajalar bay. its a 50-foot statue of the Divine Mercy. its a good retreat for backpackers who are on the religious side( apparently i am the exact opposite =)… i wouldnt have gone there if not for mom) pilgrims can climbed up the statue during certain hours… 4pm yata =) i am not really this forgetful, i think its only on things like religion and things associated with it. but hey im not anti-christ, just to clear that out =)

The place looks wonderful. When I first saw the picture of the 50-foot statue, I thought it was from another country. Thanks for sharing. I hope I can go there someday.
Take care! Btw, got your blog link from Pex. 🙂
